The New Jersey Society of Licensed Tree Experts offers several benefits to those LTE's that become members. One of the most important undertakings is our three one-day Preparatory / Educational Sessions open to all individuals who either wish to take the NJ Licensed Tree Expert examination, need CEU's or pesticide credits, or just want to update themselves to current problems with trees and learn the solutions. The intense four-day course covers such topics as Tree Identification, Tree Anatomy, Tree Physiology, Insects, Disease Cycles, General Tree Care and a sample examination plus review.
The classes are generally given on four separate days: one in April, two in May, and the last in the beginning of June.
Dinner meetings are held several times a year. These meetings give members a chance to come out to network with fellow LTE’s, and have a good meal and lively discussion too. We have had these dinners in the past at The Rutgers Club on Cook College Campus and also at the Forest Resource Education center in Jackson Township. They are always well attended and the information shared by the speakers and the networking done with your fellow LTE's is very worthwhile.
The annual meeting of the NJ Society of Certified Tree Experts is held during the annual New Jersey Shade Tree Federation Conference, October 22 and 23, 2020. This year our meeting will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation 95th Annual Conference in Cherry Hill at The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia-Cherry Hill.
I encourage all LTE's to come out for this meeting and to attend the entire conference if you are able.
The goal of the Society is to promote the LTE credential, support the tree care industry and encourage and aid in the betterment of both.
